Rigid frame parts form the structural backbone of a pre-engineered building. They create a rigid skeleton of columns and beams that carries roof and wall loads down to the foundation. The roof system relies on that frame for support; roof panels are supported by the frame and bolted to the roof beam, giving a solid, continuous enclosure. This is why this function is the primary duty of rigid frame members. They are not primarily for electrical grounding, which is a separate system; they don’t install floor slabs, which are poured on the foundation; and while the frame contributes to overall stability, reinforcing side and end walls isn’t its main purpose—the key job is to provide mounting and support for the roof panels.
